Paul “Pablo” Wilson left Snow Patrol after nearly two decades in the band — but only recently announced his departure in conjunction with his new project, Above As Below.

Wilson says less and less of his input was making it into Snow Patrol so he left last November simply because he wanted to work on his own music, beginning with Above As Below.

When Snow Patrol reunited post-COVID lockdown for a tour, Wilson realized his heart wasn’t in it anymore. “It’s quite a tough decision to walk away from a huge entity like Snow Patrol,” he says. “But my priorities shifted so much.”

Wilson says the song “Luna” is about the “divine feminine.” He performed all of the instruments on the Metal leaning track.

Snow Patrol formed in ’94. Wilson joined in ’05.
