Jeff Beck Guitar Goes For $1.3 Million
A guitar owned by Jeff Beck has been sold for £1,068,500 (approximately $1,317,111 U.S.) at auction.
Beck’s Oxblood Les Paul, which came into his hands in ’72, was immortalized on his “Blow By Blow” album cover (see above), had a pre-auction estimate of £300,000 – £500,000.
The Christie’s auction “Beck: The Guitar Collection,” comprised of over 130 guitars, amps, pedals and “tools of the trade, sold for a total of more than £8 million.
These instruments which Beck (1944–2023) played through his almost six-decade-long career, from joining Yardbirds “65 to the Jeff Beck Group and solo, before closing with his last tour in ’22.
