Ghost canceled shows in Jacksonville and Tampa as Hurricane Idalia hits Florida’s Gulf Coast. In addition to damage caused by high winds there is also extensive flooding.

Another show, this one in Simpsonville, SC, got axed due to inclement weather which damaged Ghost‘s equipment. The venue’s roof was not large enough to cover the stage and gear.

This year weather has severely impacted or canceled concerts.

A 7/22 Disturbed show in Phoenix was postponed when the band’s equipment wouldn’t work in the extreme heat.

Then they were forced to postpone a 8/7 concert in Raleigh, NC due to a power outage caused by severe weather.

In August, a Pantera concert at the Rock Fest in Cadott, WI, was abbreviated after a “severe weather warning” delayed the start of their performance.

Heavy rains reduced the attendance at Germany’s Wacken Open Air Festival. A sellout crowd of 85,000 was originally expected but only an estimated 50,000 people made it to the site before organizers halted admissions.

Finally, Metallica made a donation of $150,000 to help communities recover from multiple tornadoes that hit Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
