Black Label Society Releases “Ozzy’s Song”
“I had the music written ’cause we’d been writing this album for the last three and a half years, almost four years. And I was real happy with the way the music came out. And then I figured eventually I’ll finish the song. After we laid Ozzy (Osbourne) to rest, when we got back home, we took a break,” recalled Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde (pictured above with BLS), who played lead guitar in Ozzy’s band, off and on, for twenty-five years, recording nine albums with the legendary vocalist.
Wylde continued: “I sat in a little library room in our house. I just put the headphones on at about one o’clock in the morning and I was looking at a book of Ozzy and I just wrote the lyrics. And that’s what came out.”

The ballad is on Black Label Society’s recently released eighteenth album, “Engines Of Demolition.”
Wylde is also a member of the reformed Pantera.
