Paramore has released the music video for the ballad “Thick Skull,” the last track on “This Is Why,” which was released last year following a six-year gap between albums.
The video, directed by Turnstile’s Brendan Yates, reflects evolving perceptions.
“This job includes being a mirror or a blank screen for people to project onto and find themselves in,” explained frontwoman Haley Williams. “But as I’ve grown up, I’ve felt myself, little by little, let go of the tireless need for people to see me as ‘good’. Every day, I learn there is no such box to fit neatly into.”
“This Is Why,” Paramore’s sixth album, went to #2 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard‘s Rock charts. The set also completed their contractual obligations to Atlantic Records, which led to uncertainty regarding the band’s future.
“Paramore has been the vehicle by which me and my friends have learned our toughest lessons,” noted Williams. “It has kept us close, and it has nearly killed us.”
