The Darkness Take On “Masters Of The Universe”
The Darkness have released “Masters Of The Universe,” the theme to the He-Man movie of the same name. which recently premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The track was written by written by The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins and his bandmate brother, guitarist Dan Hawkins.
“When He-Man asked whether we could provide some music for his forthcoming biopic ‘Masters Of The Universe’, we dusted off our trusty loincloths, assembled in the courtyard of Castle Darkness and bellowed in unison WE HAVE THE POWER,” comments The Darkness. “Also, Brian May (Queen) was there.”
The track does have some obvious Queen overtones.

“Eternia” featuring May was the first song from the “Masters Of The Universe” soundtrack.
The full soundtrack album will, arrive on June 5th… the same day the live action film receives its theatrical release.
“Masters Of The Universe” from Amazon MGM Studios, and Mattel Studios is based on the iconic franchise and will be released theatrically in the U.S by Amazon MGM Studios.
