Today In Rock: March 31st, 2022- Red Hot Chili Peppers Are On the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
On this day… Red Hot Chili Peppers were honored with the 2,717th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star was dedicated in the category of Recording in front of Amoeba Music at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.
There was an emergency street closure called by the LAPD due to the estimated 2,500 fans in attendance.
“Our hometown Hollywood boys are finally coming to collect their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We have been waiting for them to break away from their busy schedules to dedicate their star and we are thrilled to welcome them to our Walk of Fame family,” stated Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer.
R.H.C.P.s have sold over 120 million records sold worldwide, won three Grammys and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012,
The Grammys were for Best Rock Album – “Stadium Arcadium” (2007); Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal- “Give It Away (1993); and Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal – “Dani California” (2007).
