CBS broadcast a Billy Joel concert Sunday marking the performer’s 100th consecutive sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. The concert was recorded in March.
Of course, Joel closed with “Piano Man.” It’s his defining song and the audience (in the arena and at home) loves to sing along.
But some CBS affiliates cut off a portion of the song to go to the local news.
Fans were mad and Joel was furious. And that became the lead story.
CBS will relay the show (in its entirety) on April 19th.
