Sleater-Kinney’s “Little Rope” Album
Sleater-Kinney have issued “Little Rope,” the band’s eleventh studio album containing “Hell,” “Say It Like You Mean It,” and “Untidy Creature.”
“It (“Untidy Creature”) became a gift, somewhere to put our darkest fears, and our deepest hopes,” the band explained in a statement. “We sometimes feel trapped or angry, and yet still we breathe.”
.
After the release of their tenth studio album, ’21’s “Path Of Wellness,” the band enlisted producer John Congleton for “Little Rope,” which was recorded in Portland, OR.
Production was well underway when a fatal car accident involving guitarist Carrie Brownstein’s mother and stepfather occurred in Italy in ‘22. The duo then had to work out “how we navigate grief, who we navigate it with, and the ways it transforms us.”
As a result, “Little Rope” deals with topics including “global crisis and personal tragedy.”
