Shinedown’s “A Symptom Of Being Human” extends the band’s record for the most #1’s on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart (dated 1/20). The song, Shinedown’s 19th #1 on the chart, is from their “Planet Zero” album.
“It’s a song about taking a breath and understanding we all are going to face obstacles in life, but you have to embrace the trials and tribulations,” explained frontman Brent Smith.
Shinedown have long supported metal health initiatives – including suicide prevention. “If you have a loved one, if you have a friend of yours, and you can tell there’s a shift in the way that they are acting, those are warning signs. Especially when they’re being quiet,” noted Smith.
