During the grand opening of Kid Rock’s ‘The Detroit Cowboy’ restaurant in Nashville President Donald Trump takes time to promote the eatery. “I hear it is a very friendly MAGA establishment and look forward to going there sometime soon,” writes Trump on Truth Social.

6/3 Metallica’s Blood Drive Announcement
Metallica’s All Within My Hands (AWMH) foundation announces that more than 1,000 blood donations have been collected to date during the band’s North American tour as part of the band’s lifesaving partnership with the American Red Cross.

The Atlantic City Police Department arrest a suspect involved in the theft of a guitar and mandolin from Heart., who are on tour.
“We are deeply grateful to the Atlantic City Police Department, the Hard Rock organization, and everyone who came together to support us in the search for our stolen instruments,” Heart comments. The instruments were reported stolen on May 30th.

The performance with Orchestre Symphonique De Québec is conducted by Dina Gilbert at Grand Théâtre de Québec in Quebec City, Quebec.
The show may be released in some format though no decision has been made.

The Dead Daisies share a 20-minute documentary showing how a spontaneous late-night jam session in Muscle Shoals at the legendary FAME Studios, turned into one of the band’s most soul-stirring records – “Lookin’ For Trouble” – the band’s first full-fledged Blues album
The documentary, a heartfelt tribute to the enduring power of the Blues, is part road film and part musical journey.
“Lookin’ For Trouble” was released in May.

Never Enough
6/6 Turnstile Unfurl “Never Enough”
Their fourth album was recorded between Los Angeles and the band’s Baltimore home, “Never Enough” was produced by Turnstile’s Brendan Yates.
The group’s first full-length release in four years is their first album to not feature guitarist Brady Ebert following his ’22 departure.
Meg Mills makes her debut as an official member (replacing Ebert), after touring with the band from ’23 to ’25.

6/6 Volbeat Brings “God Of Angels Trust”
“In the past, I’ve taken a long time to write and obsessed over so many elements of the songs before finishing them,” said guitarist/vocalist Michael Poulsen. “This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it. Instead of following any kind of structure I said, ‘Okay, there are no rules. I can do anything I want’. That was freeing for me and made it exciting to write this album.”
It’s Volbeat’s ninth studio effort.

Air Mail, a weekly digital newsletter, publishes a piece entitled “The Cult of Leto,” with the subtitle: “He has acted in everything from American Psycho to House of Gucci. Now Jared Leto stands accused of impropriety by nine women.” Leto is also the frontman for 30 Seconds To Mars.
According to The Guardian, a British newspaper, “multiple women have accused Leto of impropriety, with some calling the 53-year old actor and musician’s behavior ‘predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.’”
Leto representatives deny the accusations.

Triumph
6/7 Triumph Performs For The First Time In Six Years
Triumph performs at the Rogers Festival At The Final, a free outdoor concert in Edmonton’s ICE District ahead of Game 2 of the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers.
Six years ago, Triumph played a November 2019 fans-only show in a Toronto suburb.

Rodrigo brings Byrne onstage during her headlining set. The two trade off lines throughout their rendition of the ’83 classic with Rodrigo mimicking some of Byrne’s signature stage moves.

Shinedown is #1 on the Alternative Radio chart with “Three Six Five.”
In addition to the Alternative Radio chart, the song is #11 at Hot AC and #32 at Top 40.

6/9 Sly Stone Passes Away
The frontman, singer, songwriter and producer of Sly & The Family Stone dies in L.A. after battling lung disease. He was 82.
The band, who performed at the original Woodstock, are known for the hits “I Want To Take You Higher,” “Everyday People,”” and “Dance To The Music,” among others.

6/11 Nirvana Reaches Two Billion
Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video surpasses two billion views on YouTube.
Directed by Samuel Bayer, the video debuted in 1991 and played a key role in launching the band.
Frontman Kurt Cobain described “Smells Like Teen Spirit” as an attempt to write “the ultimate pop song.” It sold over 13 million units to become one of the best-selling songs of all-time.

Metallica Saved My Life
6/11 “Metallica Saved My Life” Debuts
The documentary, an exploration of Metallica’s world through the lives of its fans, premieres at the Tribeca Festival.
“I think this movie really shows how we are the same as our fans, and we’ve got, and they’ve got, a great story to tell,” says Metallica’s James Hetfield.

6/11 Beach Boys Brian Wilson Dies
As the co-founder of the Beach Boys, Wilson was a creative force developing the band’s early songs about the joys of surfing, cars and SoCal teen life.
From there he produced the all-time classics “God Only Knows,” “Caroline, No,” “California Girls,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “Good Vibrations.”
Wilson was the mastermind behind “Pet Sounds,” regarded as one of the greatest albums of the ‘60s Rock era.
Wilson was 82.

Buckcherry
6/13 Buckcherry’s “Roar Like Thunder” Is Released
The set was recorded last November in Nashville with producer Marti Frederiksen, who has history with the band co-writing the Top 10 hit “Sorry,” co-producing with Buckcherry the ’08 album “Butterfly” and co-writing three songs with frontman Josh Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson for ’13’s “Confessions.”
The set’s first two singles, the title track and “Come On” have already been released.

6/13 Metallica Present “Load” (Remastered Deluxe Box Set)
The set’s 15 CDs include a remastered “Load“ album, collected riffs, demos and rough mixes, B-Sides rarities, and live material.
The four DVDs offer behind the scenes, in-studio and live footage and broadcast appearances.

Neil Young, along with his new band, The Chrome Hearts issue their debut full-length album. The Chrome Hearts are Spooner Oldham (Organ); Micah Nelson (Guitar and Vocal); Corey McCormick (Bass and Vocal); Anthony LoGerfo (Drums); All songs are written by Neil Young, co-produced by Lou Adler and Young, and recorded at Shangri La Studios in Malibu.

6/13 The Who’s Roger Daltrey Knighted
He is among the notable figures recognized in King Charles III’s Birthday Honours list.
The singer is celebrated for his contributions to music and his charitable work – particularly with the Teenage Cancer Trust, where he has served as a patron since 2000.

Steve Winwood
Steve Winwood, who had stints with the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith before embarking on a successful solo career is also knighted.
Winwood co-wrote and sang “Gimme Some Lovin’, the biggest hit for the Spencer Davis Group, before founding the legendary Traffic. He played keyboards and sang in Blind Faith which also featured guitarist Eric Clapton.
As a solo performer, Winwood is known for the songs “While You See A Chance,” “Roll With It” and “Higher Love.”

Melissa Auf der Maur
6/13 A Brief Smashing Pumpkins Reunion
Billy Corgan (of Smashing Pumpkins fame) on tour with Machines Of God, playing Pumpkins songs, stops in Montreal where former Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf der Maur makes a hometown onstage appearance with Corgan.
The band then launched into the finale song, “The Everlasting Gaze,” from 2000’s “Machina” to close out the night.
Auf der Maur, the former Hole bassist joined the Pumpkins as a touring member in 1999, replacing original bassist D’arcy Wretzky, and remained with the band through 2020.

6/14 Heart’s Nancy Wilson Slams Unauthorized Use Of “Barracuda”
The Heart guitarist takes issue with the Trump administration for playing an instrumental version of the band’s song “Barracuda” at military parade in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary.
“As daughters of a U.S. Marine Corps major, we hold a deep and abiding respect for the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces,” states Nancy. “On a day meant to honor that service, it’s important that music used in such settings reflects not only the tone of the event but also the wishes of the artists who created it.”
Attendance at Trump’s parade, held on the president’s 79th birthday, was reportedly dwarfed by the millions who showed up at roughly 2,000 anti-Trump protests held all over the U.S.

The former Journey singer raises $215.00 for Altadena fire victims following the devastating Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year.
Perry auctions over 50 items from his personal archive, including the handwritten lyrics to “Don’t Stop Believin’,” which went for $43,500.

6/17 The Offspring Are On Kimmel
The Offspring are on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” They perform: “Come Out And Play” (the only track televised),”You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid”, “The Kids Aren’t Alright” and “Lookin’ Out For #1.” The Offspring will launch the North American leg of its “Supercharged Worldwide In ’25” tour in July.

A council leader, Millie Earl, says Marilyn Manson’s Dorset, England gig should be canceled to “reinforce the message that violence against women and girls isn’t something that’s acceptable in our community”.
Manson has repeatedly denied the accusations made by several women and dismissed them as “falsehoods”.

6/18 Cause Of Plane Crash Determined
The National Transportation Safety Board issues a finding that the Cessna 550 (business jet) carrying former Devil Wear Prada drummer Daniel Williams and talent agent Dave Shapiro was too low on its descent path to San Deigo for more than a mile before clipping power lines 95 feet above the ground on May 22nd. All passengers, including Williams and Shapiro were killed in the crash.

6/19 Mötley Crüe/Dolly Parton Charity Single
“‘Home Sweet Home’ was first released in 1985 as a single from our ‘Theatre Of Pain’ album,” writes Mötley Crüe in a statement. “That we were able to unite with Dolly to raise awareness for homeless youth and the amazing work of Covenant House, which provides them safe housing and care, makes it even more special.”
“It was an honor and a joy working in the studio on Mötley Crüe’s 40th Anniversary re-release of ‘Home Sweet Home’, added Parton.
The song will be included in Mötley Crüe’s career-spanning compilation, “From The Beginning,” due September 12th.
Previously, Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist John 5 played on “Bygones,” a song from Parton’s “Rockstar” album.

There is no information regarding which band member is dealing with the “medical issue.”

Patrick Walden
6/20 Former Babyshambles Guitarist Dies
Patrick Walden has dies at the age of 46. Details regarding the cause and circumstances of his death are not specified.
Walden was an original member of Babyshambles when singer Pete Doherty and Drew McConnell formed the band but he quit in 2005 to deal with substance-abuse and legal issues.

6/22 Green Day Frontman Gets Soaked… And Doesn’t Like It
Billie Joe Armstong calls out a fan during a performance of “Jesus Of Suburbia,” at Germany’s Hurricane Festival, He reportedly threatens to “beat their ass” if they didn’t stop shooting him with a water gun.
Moments later, Armstrong steps away from the microphone and scolds the fan directly.

Killswitch Engage are rejoined by their former singer Howard Jones at the second show of the “Summer Of Loud” tour in Tampa, Jones makes an appearance for the song “The Signal Fire,“ sharing the lead vocal duties with the band’s longtime frontman Jesse Leach.

6/23 U2’s The Edge Becomes An Irish Citizen
Born David Howell Evans in Essex, The Edge is granted Irish citizenship. He has spent more than six decades living in Ireland.
“I’ve been living in Ireland now since I was one year old,” said the guitarist. :”But the time is right. And I couldn’t be more proud of my country for all that it represents and all that it is doing.”
The Edge formed U2 with Bono, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. in Dublin in 1976.
Clayton was also born in England before moving to Ireland as a child in 1965. He became an Irish citizen in 1989.

6/23 Bad Company Guitarist Dies
Mick Ralphs, the guitarist, songwriter, and Bad Company co-founder passes away at age 81.
Ralphs’ death comes just two months after Bad Company was announced as one of the inductees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. He was also a member of Mott The Hoople (“All The Young Dudes”).

The Ozzy Osbourne “Working Class Hero” exhibition opens in Birmingham, U.K. celebrating the icon’s achievements just prior to the Black Sabbath “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert.

Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth was initially scheduled to play at the Ozzy Osborne/Black Sabbath farewell “Back To The Beginning” concert on July 5th but is forced to cancel due a commitment to support Creed’s tour which starts the next day.
“I (wouldn’t) be able to pull it off — unfortunately,” says Van Halen.

6/25 Brent Hinds Blasts Mastodon
The ex-Mastodon guitarist calls his former band a “shit” group “with horrible humans”.
Hinds, who exited Mastodon last March, makes his comments in a social media post.
At the time of Hinds’ departure the band stated “After 25 monumental years together, Mastodon and Brent Hinds have mutually decided to part ways.
The guitarist’s first post-Mastodon show was with his band Fiend Without A Face in Atlanta.

Good Charolette

The band hits Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform “Rejects,” a single off their eighth album, “Motel Du Cap” (due 8/8).
“We don’t premeditate any songs,” offers the band’s Benji Madden (guitar/vocals). “We write a stream of consciousness. It’s something we kind of learned over the years.”

6/27 Orianthi’s “Some Kind Of Feeling Out Digitally
Orianthi’s fifth studio effort, “Some Kind Of Feeling.” is available digitally (on CD on 8/15 and on vinyl on 9/19).
“Most of the tracks have a really live feel to them, because they are pretty much live,” shares Orianthi. “We probably cut them three or four times and then chose the best one and then added some backgrounds and whatnot… but ultimately what you’re hearing is very live.”

6/27 Babymetal Unfurl “Metal Forth”
“Metal Forth” (meaning ‘beyond Metal”) is their fourth original album but first for Capitol Records.
Poppy, Spiritbox and Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) contributed to the set.
The band plans to follow the album with a world tour.
Babymetal is credited with creating the kawaii Metal (“cute metal”) genre, which combines elements from J-pop and Heavy Metal.

6/27 Bruce Springsteen’s “Lost Albums” Are Found
“Tracks II: The Lost Albums ” is a collection of seven unheard Bruce Springsteen records made between 1983–2018.
There are 83 new selections (mostly never-before-heard songs), The Country/Rockabilly oriented album “Somewhere North Of Nashville” contains “Repo Man” which dropped in May.

Black Sabbath
6/28 Black Sabbath Honored
The founding members of Black Sabbath are awarded the Freedom of the City of Birmingham at a ceremony in the Council House.
The Freedom Of The City honor is the one of the oldest traditional ceremonies in the country and recognizes people’s exceptional service to the city – Sabbath’s hometown.

Iron Maiden’s Eddie
6/28 Iron Maiden’s “Homecoming”
Iron Maiden performs at London Stadium, home of West Ham Football Club, for the first time. Maiden bassist Steve Harris is a major fan while guitarists Dave Murray and Adrian Smith and retired Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain are from the surrounding area.
The concert, part of the “Run For Your Lives” 50th anniversary tour, entertains an estimated 70,000-75,000 fans to become the biggest U.K. venue the band has ever headlined outside of its festival appearances.

Marilyn Manson
6/29 Marilyn Manson Canceled
The opening concert of Marilyn Manson’s U.K. tour – set to take place October 29th in Brighton, England – is canceled following an online campaign by No Stage For Abusers and MP (Member of Parliament) Siân Berry.
Manson has faced numerous sexual abuse/assault accusations in the past. See above.

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong
6/29 Billie Joe Armstrong Kicks Oasis Fan Off The Stage
As part of their ongoing “Saviors” tour, Green Day invite concert attendees on stage to play guitar during the band’s performance of their 1997 hit “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).” But in Luxembourg the chosen fan decides to play the opening chords to the Oasis megahit “Wonderwall” instead. He gets the boot from Armstrong.

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl
6/30 Foo Fighters Return
Foo Fighters release an 80-sevond cover of Minor Threat’s “I Don’t Wanna Hear It.”
Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl was in the Hardcore band Scream prior to joining Nirvana. Scream’s music was released through Dischord Records which was owned by Minor Threat’s Ian MacKaye.
The instrumental tracks were recorded in 1995, while the vocals were added in 2025.
