Pearl Jam has returned to #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart for the first time in 26 years with “Dark Matter.” The band last reached the top spot with “Given To Fly” in early ’98.
“Dark Matter,” which has already topped Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, is the title track of the band’s 12th studio album (pictured), due for release April 19th.
“There’s the melody and energy of the first couple of records,” explained PJ guitarist Mike McCready. “Andrew pushed us to play as hard and melodic and thoughtful as we’ve done in a long time.”
