“Half Black Heart,” the fifth studio album from New Years Day, has dropped.
The album features the previously released tracks “Half Black Heart,” “Vampyre,” “Hurts Like Hell,” “Secrets” and “I Still Believe.”
“Personally, I felt lost and uncertain about what lay ahead,” explained singer Ash Costello (pictured above). “‘I Still Believe‘ is a heartfelt anthem dedicated to anyone in need of a reminder that with unwavering self-belief, anything is possible.
“Vampyre” is a song for anyone who has battled or is battling a malignant narcissist, which, essentially, is a certain kind of person who tries to suck the life out of you,” added Costello.
“I wanted to write a song specifically for anyone else going through something similar in hopes it may help them discover some strength or help give them power to overcome it.”
