Erik Grönwall: Praying For A Miracle

Swedish vocalist — best known for his two-year stint with Skid Row— has released the third single from his upcoming solo album Bad Bones.”

Grönwall says: “‘Praying For A Miracle’ is about being pushed to a point where you feel like you have no control left — when everything comes down to one last chance and all you can do is hold on and hope. For me, it’s deeply personal. It takes me back to the moment I stepped on stage with Skid Row for the first time, just five months after my bone marrow transplant.”

Grönwall was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in ’21 and left the band three years later decided that the travel and rigors of the road was not conducive to his overall health and recovery.

The band, with former Megadeth members bassist David Ellefson and guitarist Jeff Young, drive a vocal duet between Chaz Leon and Gabriel Connor with a special guest appearance by former Exodus vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza.

“During the making of the (former Megadeth drummer) Nick Menza’s (documentary) film, I acquired several demo recordings of Nick playing various drum progressions,” Young recalls. “In essence, the introduction, verses and chorus of ‘Bullets Ready’ came from playing along to one of Nick’s energetic grooves.

Kings Of Thrash formed following a special ’22 appearance by Ellefson and Young at “Ultimate Jam Night” in Hollywood.
