What Will Happen When Neil Young Returns?
Canadian-born Neil Young, a Trump critic, posted on his website (om 4/1) that he’s worried he could get barred from reentering the United States after he returns from his upcoming European summer tour.
“If I talk about Donald J. Trump, I may be one of those returning to America who is barred or put in jail to sleep on a cement floor with an aluminum blanket,” wrote Young, referring to the Trump administration detaining travelers for weeks, deporting and detaining immigrants over their political views.
The Canadian actress Jasmine Mooney said in an interview that she was detained when tried to cross at the U.S,-Mexico border in hopes of renewing her work visa and instead of being granted entry – or sent back to Mexico – she was detained in what she termed ‘inhumane” conditions.
“That is happening all the time now,” continued Young. “If I come back from Europe and am barred, can’t play my U.S.A. tour, all of the folks who bought tickets will not be able to come to a concert by me.”
