The three part “Lolla: The Story of Lollapalooza” is exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada (May 22nd in the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria).
“Lolla” captures the 30-plus-year relationship between the festival and its cofounder Perry Farrell (pictured), frontman for Jane’s Addiction and Porno For Pyros.
The Lollapalooza festival, which began in ’91 as farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction, became an annual trek with The Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Metallica among the headliners during the event’s initial six-year run. The festival returned in ’03 eventually finding a home in Chicago’s Grant Park.
The series premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.
