Journey’s anthem “Don’t Stop Believin‘” has officially been declared the “Biggest Song Of All Time” by Forbes.
According to the Record Industry Association of America (RIAA), the18-times platinum-certified single (based on pure sales and other forms of consumption–namely streaming), has been heard on radio, TV (network and cable), in films and at countless sporting events. It’s also a standard at wedding receptions and anniversary parties. All that led Forbes to make their determination.
Released in ’81, “Don’t Stop Believin‘” (with Steve Perry’s vocals) highlighted the band’s seventh studio effort “Escape” (the band’s first #1 album). Though it soon became the band’s signature song it did not chart as highly as some of the band’s other singles (“Who’s Crying Now” and “Open Arms”).
