The Collection Of Dusty Hill of ZZ Top presented by Julien’s Auctions began on Thursday, December 7th.

Hill’s signature 1953 Fender Precision bass, the most played instrument by Hill in this collection sold for $393,700. It was the second highest bass sold at auction behind Paul McCartney‘s Yamaha BB-1200 bass that went for $471,900 in ’21 breaking the auction price record for a bass.

Hill’s fur bass guitar played on ZZ Top‘s “Legs” music video, was also sold for $317,500.  The song is on the band’s eighth studio album, ’83’s “Eliminator.”
