“Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple,” a documentary about the E Street Band guitarist and ‘The Sopranos” actor, is on HBO. The film premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
The documentary includes testimonials from Paul McCartney, Eddie Vedder, Bill Wyman, Bono, Darlene Love, Joan Jett, Peter Gabriel, and, you guessed it, Bruce Springsteen.
“He was a great performer, great songwriter, great producer,” Springsteen said. “We were so close, I just wanted him near me. He just became my Rock n’ Roll brother, instantly.”
The film also traces Van Zandt’s career as an activist – a champion of social justice.
