Daughtry’s “Artificial” is #1 Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart (dated 2/17). The band has had eight entries in seventeen years but this is their first to top the survey.
Prior to “Artificial,” currently a standalone single, Daughtry’s highest ranking song on Mainstream Rock Airplay was #4 with “Heavy Is The Crown” in ’21.
Following Chris Daughtry’s run as a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol the band’s self-titled debut album, released in ’06, went to #1 on the Billboard 200.
“Artificial” replaces Shinedown’s “A Symptom Of Being Human” which ruled the chart for nearly a month.
The song also sits atop the Active Rock chart.
