As I Lay Dying’s New Single
“If I Fall,” As I Lay Dying’s follow-up to the single “Echoes,” has arrived.
“I wrote the first version of ‘If I Fall’ before the new lineup even came together, and I knew the song had real potential,” recalled vocalist Tim Lambesis (pictured above). “As each musician joined the process, that potential only grew — everyone brought something that elevated what I’d already started. Musically it hints at what’s possible with this refreshed energy, and lyrically it reflects the kind of people I want around me for this next and best chapter.”
Last year, As I Lay Dying dropped its eighth full-length studio album “Through Storms Ahead.”” The album was finished before four bandmembers – bassist Ryan Neff, guitarist Ken Susi, guitarist Phil Sgrosso and drummer Nick Pierce – announced their departures. As a result, scheduled tours were cancelled.
The current line-up is a reconstituted edition of As I Lay Dying.
As I Lay Dying guitarist Bill Hudson has known Lambesis for years and previously worked with band drummer Tim Yeung. “It’s an honor to be a part of the new chapter of As I Lay Dying,” enthused Hudson. “What a great way to get together and play with so many friends of 15+ years at the same time!”
