Shinedown Score Twenty-First #1
Shinedown are atop Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart (dated September 20th) with “Killing Fields.” Recently, the song went to #1 on both the Active Rock and the Alternative Airplay surveys.
“The subject matter in this song cannot be prioritized to one specific opinion,” explained frontman Brent Smith. “The song is meant to push you, to inspire you to think for yourself, and ask questions… We all know we are living in complicated times… The true question is, how will you respond.”
Killing Fields
“Killing Fields” is the third stand-alone single Shinedown has dropped this year following the simultaneous release of “Three Six Five” and “Dance, Kid, Dance.” The song was written by Smith with the band’s longtime bassist/producer Eric Bass, alongside frequent collaborator Dave Bassett.
Shinedown currently own the record for the most #1 songs on Mainstream Rock… two ahead of Three Days Grace,
