The Beatles - Beatles for Sale

A Day In Rock: December 24th, 2015 – The Beatles Are Finally Streaming

On this day… The Beatles catalog was now available on streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Tidal, Amazon Prime Music, and so on).

After holding out for years and following prolonged negotiations between Apple (The Beatles label) and the surviving Beatles’ members and their estates an agreement regarding terms and trademark issues resulted in 224 songs across 13 studio albums — being added to nine streaming services.

The Beatles had an exclusive contract with Apple’s iTunes in 2010 but there was no such exclusivity in the new streaming plan.

Initially, “Come Together” was the most streamed track.
