Ken Susi & Nick Pierce Follow Ryan Neff Out The Door – As I Lay Dying Loses Members
Guitarist Ken Susi and drummer Nick Pierce have separately announced their departure from As I Lay Dying. It comes just six days after bassist/vocalist Ryan Neff said he was leaving.
“My time playing with As I Lay Dying has come to an end today (10/24),” wrote Susi on social media, “Unfortunately, my personal morals have recently been tested to a breaking point, and it’s now the saddest ending to what could have been the greatest second chance for this band.”
“This is far from being the ending I anticipated, and I feel I need to distance myself from the band in an effort to retain my personal health and integrity,” noted Pierce just hours later.
“Ryan Neff is receiving a lot of backlash for stepping down first, and I regret not sharing this decision sooner and standing confidently with my friend — he’s a flawless musician and an even better person,” added Susi. Neff, Susi and Pierce joined the band in ’22.
As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis was convicted in ’14 for his role in a murder-for-hire plot against his estranged wife. Since the band’s reunion in ’18, following Lambesis’ release from prison, bassist/vocalist Josh Gilbert, guitarist Nick Hipa and drummer Jordan Mancino have left the band – subsequently replaced by Neff, Susi and Pierce.
As I Lay Dying’s eighth full-length studio album, “Through Storms Ahead,“ will be arrive on November 15th. But now down to Lambesis and guitarist Phil Sgrosso, the planned “Through Storms Ahead” European tour which was scheduled to launch next month has reportedly been cancelled.
