Ex-Slipknot Drummer Jay Weinberg: “I Have A Fantastic Therapist”
Jay Weinberg’s abrupt departure from Slipknot last year left some scars.
So, what happened when Weiberg got bounced? It is incredibly difficult for a musician to lose his friends (and musical family) in one fell swoop. Working through it is a process.
“Before I speak on it, it’s important for me to do the right work of processing these events that you spend 10 years exclusively committed to one thing,” stated Weinberg, having worked with his ‘fantastic’ therapist. “There’s a lot to process that on the other side. And I think there is definitely a time where I’ll speak to my lived experience over those ten years — just not quite yet.”
Weinberg was in Slipknot from ’14 – ’23.
