AC/DC Earns Major Award
AC/DC have received the Legend Award at this year’s annual O2 Silver Clef Awards on Friday (7/5) in London.
They are acknowledged for their five decades as an influential and iconic band.
Formed in ’73 by brothers Malcolm (rhythm guitar) and Angus Young (lead guitar), AC/DC has sold over 200 million albums worldwide, roughly 100 million in the U. S. Their eighth studio album, “For Those About To Rock” (’81), was their first album to reach #1 on the Billboard 200.
In addition, Blur took home the flagship O2 Silver Clef Award in celebration of the band’s contribution to music during its three-decade-long career.
The O2 Silver Clef Awards aid the U.K. music-therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins.
