“CMFT,” which went to #44 on the Billboard 200 (#6 on the Top Rock Albums survey) was a departure from Taylor’s previous work.

Two years later, Taylor released “CMFB… Sides” It has B-sides, live versions, and covers.

Corey Taylor, the Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman, released his debut solo album, “CMFT,” in ’20. The album contained ““Black Eyes Blue,” which had a two-week run at #1 on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Songs chart.

Taylor’s sophomore effort, “CMF2,″ was produced by Jay Ruston. He also worked on “CMFT.” “We’re not afraid to tell each other if it’s a good idea, or also a bad one; we have that kind of trust,” explained Taylor. He flatly stated the set “the best Rock album of this year and the next.”

The set’s featured tracks were, “Beyond,” Taylor’s second solo #1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, “Post Traumatic Blues,” We Are The Rest” and “Talk Sick.”

Talk Sick

“That sick guitar at the beginning (of “Talk Sick”), I played that through a speaker about the size of a coffee cup. It made it sound violent; you feel like you’re being stung by bees who are playing along to the Sex Pistols,” revealed Taylor.

He recorded the album with his solo band: Christian Martucci (guitar), Zach Throne (guitar) Eliot Lorango (bass) and Dustin Robert (drums).
