The White Stripes (first time eligible – pictured), Iron Maiden, Rage Against The Machine, Soundgarden, Sheryl Crow, and Warren Zevon are among the nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Non-Rock performers nominated include Willie Nelson, George Michael, Missy Elliot, Cyndi Lauper and The Spinners.
“These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps,” states John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.
The Hall’s voting body consisting of musicians, historians and music industry experts will weigh-in on who will be inducted. In addition, a fan vote will also be tallied as part of the process.
