Thy Art Is Murder Dumps Vocalist

On the day (9/22) Thy Art Is Murder released its sixth album “Godlike,” the band announced the firing of vocalist CJ McMahon (pictured above) having already removed his vocals from the album and re-recorded them with another vocalist.

The split was partially due to McMahon’s recent anti-trans comments, which the band noted was only a symptom of a larger problem.

Chris “CJ” McMahon was in the band from 2009–2015 and 2017–2023. He replaced original vocalist Brendan van Ryn.

Thy Art Is Murder, an Australian Deathcore band from Sydney, formed in ’06.
