The Devil Wears Prada’s Ninth Album Is Out

The Devil Wears Prada has released its ninth album, “Flowers.” The set contains the double single, “Where The Flowers Never Grow” and “Wave.”

“‘Where The Flowers Never Grow’ is a song about the realization that no matter how good things get from the outside, there is a still a place of darkness in our minds… the place where flowers never grow,” relayed the band’s Jeremy DePoyster (guitar, clean vocals). “My hope is that anyone who hears the song feels seen, that they’re not alone in the darkest corners of their mind, and that we’re all trying to find a way forward.”

The album also features the singles “Eyes” and “So Low.”

“‘Eyes’ is about coming to a point in life where you start to question the reality of what you once believed,” stated keyboardist Jonathan Gering. “It captures the feeling of wanting to break away from something that has only worked against you and the struggle to find a new way to move forward.”

“To me, ‘So Low’ is almost fighting the mundane, when everything feels flat or meaningless,” commented vocalist Mike Hranica. “You just want to set it all on fire and blow it up to get a reaction. It’s about chasing that rush, even if it leaves you feeling worse in the end. The song comes from that place of frustration, when you’re desperate to feel alive no matter the cost.”

“‘Flowers’ is 20 years into a journey,” DePoyster concluded. “The highs, the lows, a reckoning with what it means be a human catapulting through the chaos that life throws at us continually. This is us at our peak, in songwriting, in raw and authentic lyricism and introspection, and a desperate attempt to connect with anyone else who feels the same way that we do.”
