Lee & Lifeson To Celebrate Rush’s Music Legacy (New Dates Included)
Rush co-founders Geddy Lee (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals) have announced the “Fifty Something” headline tour. Next summer’s trek will celebrate Rush’s music, legacy, and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. It will be the first time Lee and Lifeson have toured together since the finale of Rush’s “R40” tour at the Forum in L.A. in ’15.
“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of Rush alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil,” offered Lee. “Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we fucking miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of Rush music.
Peart died from an aggressive form of brain cancer, on January 7th, ’20, in Santa Monica, CA. He had been diagnosed three and a half years earlier.
Accomplished German musician Anika Nilles will be playing drums on the tour.
