Hatebreed respond to the lawsuit filed on September 25th by former bassist Chris Beattie with a motion filed by their legal team who ask the court to dismiss four of the six claims that Beattie made in his lawsuit. The two remaining claims concern the band’s merchandising sales.

The one-hour film about the “last chapter” of Ozzy Osbourne’s life, was pulled from the BBC’s schedule last August out of respect for his family’s wishes, debuts on BBC One and iPlayer.

“Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home” is “the moving and inspirational account of the last chapter of Ozzy’s life, told through unique and intimate access to the whole Osbourne family.

Living Colour is the musical guest on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The band plays “Cult Of Personality, a pointed, politically charged track which served as their breakthrough song in the late ’90s.

Living Colour singer Corey Glover once said, “I think if it weren’t for that song, I’d be working for UPS.

The documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now” premieres on Paramount+. The film explores the aftermath of Ozzy’s life-changing fall in ’19.

“No Escape From Now” also showcases the comfort Ozzy found in making music — particularly for what would be his final studio album “Patient Number 9” — and his determination to say goodbye to his fans.

10/7 Ozzy’s “Last Rites” Memoir Published

An excerpt from the book reads: “People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything? I’m like, f*** no. If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I’d done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy.”

In the book, written in Ozzy Osbourne’s own words and completed just prior to his death earlier this year, he calls his last show (“Back To The Beginning” Ozzy/Black Sabbath farewell concert) “the best medicine I’ve had since all my medical shit started back in 2019.”

“There was so much love in that stadium, coming at me in waves… It was the best drug I ever took.”

10/7 Evan Dando Memoir Out

“Rumors Of My Demise,” by Evan Dando, front man of The Lemonheads and “poster boy—and prettiest boy—of Gen X” tells the story of his band’s tumultuous history and what it was like to be famous in the pre-internet days. Following the death of Nirvana’s Jurt Cobian, Dando, for a number of reasons, was tagged to be the next to go. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

The Lemonheads formed in Boston in 1986 with Dando as the band’s only constant member.

The Lemonheads’ popularity with a mass audience came in 1992 with the major label album “It’s A Shame About Ray.” It was followed by a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson,” which eventually became one of the band’s most successful singles.

10/7 Dickinson Sings National Anthem

Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson sings the U.S. national anthem when the Los Angeles Kings host the Colorado Avalanche at Crypto.com Arena in L.A. as part of the NHL’s (National Hockey League) first day of regular-season play.

“I’m gonna be banging the drum for the L.A. Kings home opener,” says the singer.

10/7 KISS Bassist In Accident

Gene Simmons is “recovering at home” after he allegedly passes out (or faints) behind the wheel of his car on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA.

A spokesperson for the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station says that the accident happened just before 1 p.m. and “involved a vehicle that struck a parked vehicle.” The driver (Simmons) was transported to the hospital by L.A. County Fire for further treatment.”

Simmons reportedly suffers from atrial fibrillation.

Def Leppard are honored with the 2,825th star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.  

“Honored to share that we will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame,” states the band.

10/9 Gojira Receive National Award

Gojira are among the winners at Les Foudres, the first ceremony dedicated to French Metal, which was held at the Bataclan in Paris.

The band walks away with the Live Performance Of The Year honor for their performance the previous summer at the Carcassonne festival.

10/9 My Dying Bride Part Ways With Singer

Doom metal pioneers My Dying Bride officially part ways with vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe. The news comes less than a year after the band recruited singer Mikko Kotamäki for its live appearances in 2025.

Last summer, guitarist Andrew Craighan stated, “Aaron has distanced himself from the band.”

10/10 Mastodon’s Drummer/Vocalist Gets Hitched

Friends and family are in attendance as Mastodon’s Brad Dailor marries Calina Walker in Georgia.

The couple tie the knot during a ceremony at Sceptre Brewing Arts in Decatur during a “private event.”

Presiding over the ceremony was Dailor’s Mastodon bandmate Troy Sanders. Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher, Deftones Chino Moreno and Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe are in attendance. 

Dailor was previously married to Susanne Gibboney.

10/10 Shinedown Play The Grand Ole Opry

Shinedown make its debut at Nashville’s famed Country music venue. They are introduced by Grand Ole Opry member Carrie Underwood. “I saw these guys back in concert in 2004 when I was a wee college student and basically, they have not been able to get rid of me ever since,” enthuses Underwood.

Shinedown introduce a new song, “Searchlight.”

10/10 Moody Blues’ John Lodge Dies

It’s announced that John Lodge, bassist, songwriter and vocalist for The Moody Blues, and inductee of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, dies at the age of 82.

The Moody Blues, who formed in 1964 have sold more than 70 million records worldwide.

10/11 Former Lostprophets Singer Killed In Prison

48-year-old Ian Watkins was serving a 29-year sentence for child sex offenses at British maximum-security prison when he had his throat slashed after inmates were unlocked from their cells.

Watkins’s attackers reportedly slashed the singer’s jugular, causing him to die from blood loss. Two men are arrested on suspicion of murder.

10/12 Pantera Drummer Marries

Anthrax/Pantera drummer Charlie Benante and his longtime girlfriend, former Butcher Babies vocalist Carla Harvey, tie the knot at The Secret Garden in Las Vegas.

KISS bassist and co-lead singer Gene Simmons officiates the ceremony, which is attended by more than 200 guests.

10/12 Billie Joe Armstrong Hangs With Dua Lipa

At her concert in San Francisco, pop singer Dua Lipa is joined by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong- to perform the band’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends.”

“Every night we do a different song, we do a surprise song and we do a song by a local artist,” she told the audience before Armstrong joined her on stage.

The performance occurred toward the end of Dua Lipa’s show at the Chase Center.

Every night on her Radical Optimism Tour, Lipa performed a cover of a local artist’s song – but this night was extra special as the frontman of her chosen band was there to perform it with her.

“I immediately thought about San Francisco, and I thought about all of the incredible music that has come out of here. I thought about one band in particular that would be perfect tonight.”

The 3x Grammy winning singer is on her global Radical Optimism Tour.

10/13 Santana Shoots Down Fake Posts

Following viral Facebook posts claiming that Carlos Santana slammed the NFL’s choice of having Bad Bunny headline next year’s Super Bowl, the legendary guitarist put out a statement.

“I congratulate and celebrate Bad Bunny’s success and his position right now with the world and with the Super Bowl,” writes Santana. “However, fear is what motivates ignorant people to put words in my mouth — saying that I didn’t want Bad Bunny to be represented at the Super Bowl. I never said that, nor would I ever. Anything other than that is coming from people’s ignorance.”

Bad Bunny’s upcoming gig at the Super Bowl halftime show has caused an internet uproar, particularly with MAGA – Donald Trump called the choice “absolutely ridiculous” while far-right leadership has threatened to have ICE officers outside Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA (on February 8th) where the game will take place.

Some MAGA-types want Bad Bunny, who has sold over 100-million equivalent album units worldwide, to be deported before the Super Bowl.

However, Bad Bunny was born in Puerto Rico, which is part of the U.S.

“Becoming Led Zeppelin” is nominated for “Best Music Documentary” by the 2025 Critics Choice Documentary Awards.

Domestically, the film’s $2.6 million start represented the largest opening weekend for an IMAX-exclusive music documentary. Award winners will be announced November 9th.

Slipknot files a federal lawsuit alleging that an anonymous web operator has held the domain slipknot.com since 2001 to host pay-for-click advertising that directs users to counterfeit merchandise (clothing, signature masks, etc.) emblazoned with Slipknot’s trademarks.

10/15 Metallica Plays Salesforce Event

Metallica plays a 12-song set at San Francisco’s Chase Center as part of Salesforce’s annual Dreamfest fundraising event for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

“We’re here to have some fun, so join us,” Metallica’s frontman James Hetfield says following opening track, “Creeping Death.

“Whether you came from far away or down the street, we’re happy you’re here,” Hetfield adds.

“I believe I’m going to be remembered as a straight shooter and a guy who stayed true to his craft and was respected by his peers,” Frehley said recently. “I brought happiness to a lot of people. I was always the funny guy in KISS. That’s how I would like to be remembered.”

10/16 Ace Frehley Dies

Founding KISS member Ace Frehley dies after being injured in a fall in September. He was 74.

KISS members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons said: “We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable Rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy.”

10/18 “Specter” Takes Bad Omens To The Top

It took a mere eight weeks for Bad Omens’ “Specter” to reach the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. 

Bad Omens first reached Mainstream Rock’s Top 10 in ’22 when “Like A Villain” peaked at #10.

10/18 Limp Bizkit Bassist Founding Member Passes Away

Sam Rivers dies at the age of 48. “Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic,” the band writes in a statement. “The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.

Rivers founded Limp Bizkit with Fred Durst and John Otto in 1994. He left the band in 2015 due to liver ailments resulting from alcohol abuse.

Guns N’ Roses’ gig in Buenos Aires got off to a rocky start when Rose visibly loses his temper during the band’s opening number, “Welcome to The Jungle”. Rose marches up to the drum riser mid-song and kicks drummer Isaac Carpenter’s bass drum — not once, but twice. Moments later, he launches his microphone into the kit and storms off.

The tantrum, sparked by tech issues that were fixed by the third song, is a rare return to the kind of volatile behavior that once defined Guns N’ Roses’ live shows.

10/22 Ace Frehley Laid To Rest

Following a private memorial service the previous day for original KISS lead guitarist Ace Frehley in Yonkers, New York – attended by fellow original KISS members Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss – Frehley is laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.

Frehley died on October16th (see above) at the age of 74. He was hospitalized in late September after falling in his studio resulting in the cancellation of his remaining tour dates.

The artwork was inspired by Zombie’s childhood of nonstop TV viewing. “I watched at least eight hours of television every single day,” he remembers. “Everything in my head I learned straight from the boob tube.”

The Metallica guitarist, working with the master luthiers at Gibson Custom, unveil the limited-edition Kirk Hammett Raven.

The guitar, based on the design of the legendary Gibson Hummingbird. delivers the timeless acoustic tone.

 “I’ve been playing Gibson, really, since the late ’70s when I bought my very first black Flying V, in 1979,” noted Hammett.

“After a long and loving marriage, Win & Régine have decided to separate,” reads a joint statement by Arcade Fire’s Win Butler and Regine Chassagne.

In ’22, Butler admitted to having extramarital relationships but he denied that any of those relations were nonconsensual. At the time, Chassagne publicly stood beside Butler.

10/30 The Doors 60th Anniversary

“A 60th Anniversary Doors Celebration” is held at the Greek Theater in L.A. This one-night-only event features special guests (Billy Idol, guitarist Steve Stevens and Perry Farrell, among others) joining The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger to perform songs from the band’s catalog.

Over the course of their career (1966- 1973), the Doors released six studio albums with singer Jim Morrison and sold over 100 million albums.
