A reunited Slayer is scheduled to perform at Riot Fest in Chicago, September 20th – 22nd, then move on to the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, KY September 26th – 29th.
Slayer will headline Day 2 (Friday, 9/27) of the four-day Louder Than Life Festival. Riot Fest will announce its full lineup and schedule this spring.
Lisa Holt, the wife of Slayer guitarist Gary Holt, has defended the band’s decision to headline the festival concerts, five years after Slayer concluded its “farewell” tour. “This isn’t a ‘TOUR’ it’s some dates,” she affirmed.
Slayer’s last album, “Repentless,” came out in ’15. The band played their final show to date at The Forum in Inglewood, CA on November 30th, ’19.
Slayer formed in ’81. Their fast and aggressive musical style made them one of the “big four” bands of Thrash Metal.
