Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins and Linkin Park To Get Stars On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame – Class Of 2027
The Hollywood Walk Of Fame Selection Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has selected Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins and Linkin Park to receive Walk Of Fame stars. They were chosen from hundreds of nominations.
A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the highest entertainment honors.

“The Walk Of Fame Selection Committee is proud to welcome the Class of 2027 to one of the most enduring symbols of achievement in entertainment,” says Walk Of Fame selection chairman Peter Roth. “These extraordinary individuals have each made a lasting impact on audiences around the world through their talent, creativity, and dedication to their craft.
Ramones
Ramones: A Punk Rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974.
Known for helping establish the Punk movement, the Ramones are often recognized as one of the first bands of the genre and are seen as being highly influential in Punk culture.
The Ramones performed 2,263 concerts, touring virtually nonstop for 22 years.
Smashing Pumpkins
Smashing Pumpkins: An Alternative Rock band formed in Chicago in 1988 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, bassist D’arcy Wretzky and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. Corgan (pictured center right) has been the only consistent member.
The band is known for its diverse, densely layered sound, which evolved throughout their career and has integrated elements of Grunge, Goth Rock and Heavy Metal, among other styles.
Linkin Park
Linkin Park: Categorized mainly as Alternative Rock/Nu Metal band, Linkin Park’s earlier was a fusion of Heavy Metal and Hip-Hop, with their later music featuring more Electronica and Pop elements. Linkin Park rose to international fame with their debut studio album, “Hybrid Theory” (2000) which moved over ten-million equivalent album units placing them among the most successful and popular Rock acts.
A date to install a star for each musical act, along with selected television, radio and film honorees, will be determined later.
Founded in 1921, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to advancing the economic vitality, cultural richness, and civic well-being of Hollywood. The Chamber is also the steward of two of the world’s most recognizable cultural landmarks — the iconic Hollywood Walk Of Fame and the legendary Hollywood Sign — preserving and promoting these global symbols on behalf of Hollywood and its residents, businesses, and visitors.
