P.O.D. Vocalist’s Memoir Is Out

Son Of Southtown: My Life Between Two Worlds” from P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval is out.

Born in Southdown, two exits from the Mexican border, Sandoval became the frontman for P.O.D. — a group too Christian for the world and too secular for the church — he has, according to a blurb promoting the book, defied every expectation, and has reached fans wanting to belong to something but never felt like they fit in.

“This book is a fast-forward look into the off scripted journey that is my life,” commented the author.

In ’91, drummer Wuv Bernardo was in the band Eschatos playing keg parties doing Metallica and Slayer covers.

After his mother’s fatal illness, Sandoval converted to Christianity and was asked by Bernardo, his cousin, to join the band as a way to keep his mind straight.

The band morphed into P.O.D. who has sold over 12-million records worldwide.
