Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor feels music’s lack of importance in today’s world “is a little defeating.”

Reznor made the comment during a recent interview on producer Rick Rubin’s “Tetragrammaton” podcast.

“In the context of Nine Inch Nails, in terms of an audience and the culture,” added Reznor, “music used to be the thing that… I was doing when I had time. I wasn’t doing it in the background while I was doing five other things, and I wasn’t treating it… as a disposable commodity. I kind of miss the attention music got.”
