New Music: Coheed And Cambria, Soilwork, Kat Von D & Lacuna Coil

Coheed And Cambria: Blind Side Sonny

“‘Blind Side Sonny’ is a song about revenge,” offered vocalist Claudio Sanchez. “What may seem like an innocent choice to someone could be the breeding ground of another’s malicious misunderstanding. Perception can be your worst enemy.”

Soilwork: Spirit Of No Return

“‘Spirit Of No Rrturn” is a fierce reminder of the past, but also an introduction of the new Soilwork era, where we’ve taken the thrashier early days and dressed it in a new heavier suit,” stated Soliwork frontman Björn “Speed” Strid.

Kat Von D w/ Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy): I Am A Machine

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Arch Enemy for so long, it’s been a dream come true getting to create music with Alissa,” shared Kat Von D (pictured above). “I was actually nervous about even asking her to sing on one of my songs, considering I make more dark, electronic music and not Metal, but was so happy/relieved when she agreed to be a part of this album” (the just-released “My Side Of The Mountain”).

Lacuna Coil: Oxygen

The band will release their tenth studio album, “Sleepless Empire” on February 14th.

“‘Oxygen’ is a powerful exploration of emotional struggle and inner conflict,” explained singer Cristina Scabbia. “The lyrics convey a sense of drowning in a toxic environment, both literally (in the video) and metaphorically, where attempts at salvation, represented by ‘oxygen’ are somehow futile.”
