Monster Magnet Cancels Remaining Tour Dates
Monster Magnet has been forced to cancel the remaining dates of their 35th-anniversary European tour due to band leader Dave Wyndorf’s illness.
“It is with regret that I have to announce cutting this tour short by 10 shows,” said the guitarist/vocalist in a statement. “I started the tour off with a mild cold that worsened to the point of blowing my voice out more than a few times and continuing would not only seriously damage the vocal cords. So in the interest of both health and quality I’m pulling the plug.”
Monster Magnet formed in 1989 and has since gone through several lineup changes, leaving Wyndorf (pictured) as the only constant member. The band has released eleven studio albums to date and has been credited for developing and popularizing the ‘Stoner Rock’ genre.
