More Linkin Park Personnel Changes

The news around Linkin Park’s return has revolved around the addition of vocalist Emily Armstrong and the new single “The Emptiness Machine.” But there have been other major changes.

Drummer Rob Bourdon was absent from the band’s recent reunion event and isn’t returning. He has been replaced by Colin Brittain. According to the band’s Mike Shinoda, Bourdon had started to distance himself from Linkin Park activities.

“The ‘Hybrid Theory‘ rerelease and ‘Papercuts‘ release, he didn’t show up for anything,” explained Shinoda. “That was sad, but at the same time, I want him to do whatever makes him happy, and obviously everybody wishes him the best.”

Also, guitarist Brad Delson will not be part of the band’s upcoming reunion tour. Though Alex Feder is the band’s new touring guitarist, Delson plans to stay involved.

“Over the years I’ve realized I thrive most when I’m actively working with my bandmates behind the scenes––in the studio, collaborating on our new music, and helping build our live show,” offered Delson. “Alex is a world-class musician, a kind and thoughtful friend, and we are truly fortunate he’ll be contributing his unique talent to our LP universe.”
