Green Day’s Bille Joe Armstrong Opposes ICE Raids

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong takes to Instagram to tell Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Trump administration to “fuck off” after thousands of Los Angeles-area residents protested raids against the immigrant community.

The Green Day frontman was among the thousands who have condemned the administration’s tactics after ICE executed several workplace raids in the Los Angeles area looking for and arresting immigrants for violations. Nearly four-dozen people were taken into custody.

On Friday (6/6) there were clashes between L.A.P.D. and protesters. The next day, Trump issued a memo federalizing National Guard units in California for 60 days with the Guard later deployed (to “keep the peace”).

Trump continued to threaten protesters with more troops. California Governor Gavin Newsom has spoken against Trump’s deployment of the Guard which he, and others, said escalated the situation.
