Grammy Viewing Party A Big Winner

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler’s sixth annual philanthropic “Jam For Janie” Grammys viewing party (on 2/2) raised over $2.5 million to support Janie’s Fund, the L.A. Fire Department Foundation and Disabled Firefighter’s Fund.

More than 100 firefighters who battled the January Los Angeles wildfires were invited to the event through the Widows, Orphans And Disabled Firefighters Fund and Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

“What the Los Angeles community has endured with these wildfires is unthinkable,” Tyler said. “Music has healing powers and we hope to bring a moment of joy and levity to our first-responder firefighters and those most affected by the fires.”

Aerosmith members, Tyler (pictured), guitarist Joe Perry and bassist Tom Hamilton performed along with Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Linda Perry and Matt Sorum at the Hollywood Palladium.

The Janie’s Fund initiative was created to bring hope and healing to girls and young women who have experienced trauma.
