“Becoming Led Zeppelin” Is A Hit
“Becoming Led Zeppelin” had a record-breaking performance for its first weekend at the box office with a $3 million IMAX debut across 16 countries and territories.
The film’s $2.6 million domestic start ($7,000 per-screen average) is the biggest opening weekend ever for an IMAX-exclusive music release,
Produced by Sony Pictures Classics, the documentary was released exclusively in IMAX last Friday on 369 North American screens with one-night-only early access screenings in eighteen markets earlier in the week. The film will expand nationwide across 1,000 screens this Friday.
“Becoming Led Zeppelin” explores the group’s origins and the creation of their self-titled debut and sophomore albums.
