American Idol Finale Has Mötley Crüe & Shinedown
The three-hour episode of the singing competition aired on 5/11. The selection process had reduced the field to three finalists. Guest performers included Mötley Crüe, Shinedown and Gin Blossoms.

Mötley Crüe and Country-Pop’s Carrie Underwood, who won American Idol in 2005, deliver Crüe classics” “Home Sweet Home” and “Kickstart My Heart.”
Underwood has previously performed both songs throughout her career. Notably, she sang “Kickstart My Heart” in ’07 with Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil on stage in Nashville.
Her cover of “Home Sweet Home” was available for download on iTunes in ’09. A portion of the proceeds went the Humane Society Of The United States. “I’ve always loved this song, and besides being very fitting for ‘Idol’, to me, the title is also very fitting with animal rescue and finding animals their own homes,” Underwood stated.
Shinedown and former “American Idol” contestant Philmon Lee also perform “Searchlight” and “Second Chance” during the season finale of the singing competition.
In the end, Hannah Harper is crowned the Season 24 “American Idol” winner.

A pioneer in the reality TV competition genre, “American Idol” offers hopeful vocalists from all over the country. Chris Daughtry (Daughtry) and Adam Lambert (Queen) have been past contestants.
