Far From God
7/3 Moonspell: Far From God
“It’s the follow-up to ‘Hermitage.’ so it’s been five or six years that we waited,” notes vocalist Fernando Ribeiro. “I think we had to wait because I wanted Moonspell to be more inspired, more sure of the path we will go down musically, and I think this is a very simple, easy-to-listen[-to] gothic metal album with a lot of rock influences too. It’s not very extreme. It’s very melodic. It’s very musical, and I think it’s one of our best creations so far.”
The set features the title track and “Cross Your Heart.”

Not Your Kingdom
7/10 Madball: Not Your Kingdom
The set is led by the new single “Rebel Kids.”
“Funny enough, ‘Rebel Kids‘ was the first track written for this album and actually was completely put together probably two years ago … or so,” explains Madball’s lead vocalist Freddy Cricien. “The sentiment, vibe and message of the song really became the catalyst for what came after. We all loved the song immediately but I couldn’t have known it would be the first single. We have several songs that we feel could be first ‘out of the gate. But in the end ‘Rebel Kids’ made the most sense musically, lyrically etc.”
