Shinedown’s “Searchlight” Lands On Country Chart

Shinedown has earned its first Billboard Country Airplay chart entry with the ballad Searchlight” sitting at #54 on this week’s chart (dated June 27th). The track is taken from Shinedown’s “Ei8ht album, which arrived last May.

Written by Shinedown’s vocalist Brent Smith and bassist Eric Bass with songwriter Dave Bassett, the band performed the track for the first time live during their debut appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in October of 2025.

“Searchlight,” with acoustic guitar, steel guitar, and violins represents a shift from the band’s traditional sound.

“The fact that we can even be accepted by another format is really cool to us,” says Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers “So, thank you to Country radio for playing the song.”

Earlier this year, “Searchlight” went to #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
