Volbeat Score Thirteenth #1
Volbeat’s’ “Demonic Depression,” is the band’s thirteenth #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart (dated May 2nd). The song is from last year’s ‘God Of Angels Trust” album which also featured previous #1s, “Time Will Heal” and “By A Monsters Hand.”
“‘Demonic Depression’ is based on one of my really good friends and the state of mind that he was in for a couple of years,” offered guitarist/vocalist Michael Poulsen. “I’ve played it for several friends, and they’ve all asked, ‘Did you write that about me?’ Which is a little scary and just shows how many people are dealing with mental issues in certain parts of their lives and how many are constantly struggling.”
Demonic Depression
Volbeat is now tied for the sixth most #1s since the chart’s inception in 1981, joining Van Halen Godsmack, Disturbed, Linkin Park and Papa Roach. They are also the record holder for the most #1s by an artist originating outside of North America.
