Rock Hall Nominees Announced
Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Billy Idol, INXS, Melissa Etheridge and Oasis are among the 17 acts nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Class of 2026) later this year. It’s the first nomination for Etheridge.
Artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before they’re eligible for induction.
Though Iron Maiden has been eligible for the Hall Of Fame since 2004, the band had only been nominated twice — in 2021 and 2023. Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson previously stated that “Rock and Roll music does not belong in a mausoleum in Cleveland. It’s a living, breathing thing.”

But if Iron Maiden were to get the nod this time the inductees would be Dickinson, bassist Steve Harris and guitarists Adrian Smith, Dave Murray and Janick Gers, along with former guitarist Dennis Stratton, ex-singer Paul Di’Anno and former drummers Nicko McBrain and Clive Burr.
The only Hard Rock/Metal performers currently in the Hall are AC/DC. Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Judas Priest, KISS, Rush and Van Halen.
Filling out this year’s nominees list are Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, Lauryn Hill, Joy Division/New Order, New Edition, Pink, Sade, Shakira, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.
The official inductees will be announced in April, along with the “Musical Influence” and “Musical Excellence” awards.
