Guns N’ Roses Issue Two New Songs
Guns N’ Roses have dropped two new singles: “Atlas” and “Nothin’.”
“Atlas” is a heavy-duty grinder while “Nothin’ provides a change of pace with a keyboard/guitar driven power ballad. Both songs were initially recorded during the (extended) “Chinese Democracy” sessions but were shelved. The tracks were recently reworked with contributions by original band members, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan – who were not in the band when “Chinese Democracy” was recorded.
Atlas
Nothing
Nine years ago, Slash and McKagan reunited with vocalist Axl Rose and have released a series of standalone singles — “Absurd” (stylized as “ABSUЯD”),”Hard Skool,” “Perhaps” and “The General.”
Is there a new album in the offing? “You can never sit down and go, ‘We’re going to take this time, and we’re going to do this,” noted Slash in a recent interview with Guitar World. “Every time we’ve done that, it falls apart. It just spontaneously happens through some sort of inspiration that triggers it. And the next thing you know, it’s off and running. So it’s coming. I know it’s coming because everybody is thinking about it. It’ll just happen when it happens.”
