Corrosion Of Conformity Deliver “Fire & Water”

Corrosion Of Conformity have released their rendition of “Fire And Water,” originally recorded by Free as the title track from their ’70 album. The Corrosion Of Conformity version came spontaneously in the studio during some downtime while recording their forthcoming new full-length album slated for release next year.

“We were hanging together, and I pulled out a Free album and ‘Fire And Water’ popped up,” recalled Corrosion Of Conformity guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan (picture above), who was in the band from 1989 to 2006 but returned in 2015. “(Drummer) Stanton (Moore) jumped up immediately and said, ‘Who the fuck is that!?’ He had never heard it before. We were baffled, but it was awesome to us that he had never heard it. He said, ‘Let’s cut that!'”

Fire And Water

“Fire And Water” is the first recording to surface featuring the new rhythm section of drummer Stanton Moore and bassist Bobby Landgraf, who stepped in for founding member Mike Dean.  It is also the first taste of “Riffissippi Studio Jam Sessions, an upcoming collection of covers.
