Pearl Jam’s “Wreckage” Is #1 on Mainstream Rock
Pearl Jam’s “Wreckage” is #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart (dated July 13th). It follows “Dark Matter,” title track from the twelfth studio effort, which had a four-week run at the top in March.
The band has had five #1s on Mainstream Rock Airplay. In addition to “Wreckage” and “Dark Matter,” they are “Daughter” (’93), “Better Man” (”95) and “Given To Fly” (’98).
“Dark Matter” (the album) peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 but topped all of Billboard‘s Rock and Alternative charts and was Pearl Jam’s first full-length set to feature contributions from touring and session member Josh Klinghoffer, who joined the band on its ’22–’23 “Gigaton Tour.”
